2 Cups of Coffee

In the morning I wake up, thoughts of you in my head,
Just as lovely, as last night, when we went to bed.
I can hear you in the kitchen, it is music my love
The smell of freshly brewed coffee, fits me just like a glove.
A E B7
2 cups of coffee, sweet, dark and strong
They'll keep me thinking about you, all day long
I'm gonna work all day, tire-lessly,
And in the evening my honey, I'll come home to thee.
Just a little while ago, things were going quite wrong,
I had lost my inspiration, couldn't write even one song.
When I saw you at the diner, an angel sent from above
You came over and asked me: What - will - you have - love?
I had 2 cups of coffee, sweet, dark and strong
I thought they were just like you, I know now I wasn't wrong.
I frequented that diner tire-lessly,
And one day you agreed - to go out with me.
I bless the day that you came - into my life,
I thank my stars you agreed to stay on as my wife.
They say your mother was a witch that she dealt spells and trickery,
But I say love's a stronger spell, then anyone can ever see.
2 cups of coffee, sweet, dark and strong
They'll keep me thinking about you, all day long
I'm gonna work all day, tire-lessly,
And in the evening my honey, I'll come home to thee.
2 cups of coffee, sweet, dark and strong
I thought they were just like you, and know I wasn't wrong.
Days I'm dreaming about you, tire-lessly,
And in the evenings my honey, I come home to thee.
2 cups of coffee, one for you, one for me
We've agreed to share our lives, just like we share our coffee!
